Sixty and Me just published the results of their annual survey on loneliness among older adults.
The aim is to raise awareness of loneliness but more importantly to explore what can be done to tackle this large and complex issue.
Some key statistics from the survey:
1. 87% reported feeling lonely at least sometimes which is a 12% increase from our 2019 survey.
2. 78% said COVID-19 (and social restrictions) amplified feelings of loneliness. Additionally, 48% said they've used video calls for the first time during the pandemic.
3. 68% reported that exercise and getting outdoors is their number one way to tackle feelings of loneliness.
Take a look...and be active!
